While the court hearing last week didn't go the way that we wanted it to, George will be moving in with us tonight. Lord willing. For now we will be his foster parents. To adopt through the foster care system a child must live in the adoptive home for 6 months before the adoption can be finalized. As long as his parents rights are terminated - which is what was supposed to happen last week but was postponed due to a technicality - within those 6 months last weeks delay won't really effect us. So today our family goes from 3 to 4. From 1 child under 2 to 2. Oh boy :)
So needless to say we could use your prayers! Pray for us as we adjust to the changes in our family. With any change there's excitement about the new but at the same time a twinge of sadness that things aren't going to be the same. Pray for Kaylene and I as we learn how to be parents to two little ones and not just one. Pray that we have realistic expectations about everything. Pray for Kelsey and George as they adjust from being only children to now having to share the spotlight. Pray for my parents and sisters as they go from being parents and main care givers to being grandparents and aunts. Pray for them as there house is now a whole lot quieter and they deal with the pain of loss but also the happiness for us and George. There's a whole lot of change and adjusting for all of us. There's a lot of areas for Satan to work his lies and deception into our lives, but we know that God would have this to be a time of joy and life. Pray that we don't give Satan any footholds and give into despair.
Thank you so much for all you're support. The excitement you've shared with us and the encouragement you've been has been incredible and been much needed. And we still need it!
So... here we go!
